November 4th & 5th Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hi Remix, Revolution & SPIN Parents, We conclude our series about stewardship looking to something Jesus told His followers during the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 6:19-24. Jesus tells us, “Your heart will be where your riches are.” Jesus reminded us rather than spending all of our time on earth to gain riches that won’t last, we should spend our time on what matters most—serving God and storing up treasures that will last forever. Bottom Line: Live like you know what really matters. The world is filled with voices telling us what should be important—money, power, fame, and personal glory. But what God wants for us is different. When we live our life for only things that matter on ea

October 28th & 29th Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hi Remix, Revolution & SPIN Parents, This week we’ll look at something Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give . . . God loves a cheerful giver, (NIrV). We have opportunities every day to spend money on all sorts of things and experiences. But what if we looked at our money differently? What if we looked at money through the eyes of stewardship and saw that how we use our money reflects how we take care of what God has given to us. Bottom Line: Use your money wisely. One of the best ways we can use our money is to give some away and allow God to something amazing with it. We’ll help kids figure out ways then can give, save and sp

October 28th & 29th Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent, This is our last week in the zig zag zone learning about the life of David and how even when it zigged and zagged, God was there to help him. We end the month learning how David praised God after He helped him. David danced and played music to show thanks to God for all His help. Our story focus is we can praise God because He helps us. When God helps us, we want to say, “Thank You!” Preschoolers will learn that they can dance and sing and play music to thank god for helping them. Got a one year old or closing in on one? Here is a great article to appreciate the uniqueness of being one! Click here to read. I read a great quote on the Parent Cue app. It said, “Don’t under

October 21st & 22nd Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent, This week in Sprouts we learn about when David wanted to keep his promise to his good friend, Jonathan. Both friends promised to take care of each other’s families. David had his servants search until they found Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth. The servants brought Mephibosheth, who was lame in both fee, to David. We learn that David provided for all of Mephibosheth’s needs, even inviting Mephibosheth to eat at the king’s table. Our story focus is God can help me help others. Our preschoolers will learn that God can even help us when we are helping someone else. God designed us to serve one another, and He is there to help us do just that! Preschoolers love to help and this

October 21st & 22nd Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hi Remix, Revolution & SPIN Parents, Jesus talked about stewardship through several of His parables, including one recorded for us in Matthew 25:14-30. This is a familiar parable about a businessman who went on a journey and left three of his workers in charge of some of his money. Two of the workers turned a profit while the third buried his portion, did nothing with it, and wasted his opportunity for growth. In the end, the people listening are left wondering how they are caring for what’s been entrusted to them. Bottom Line: Use your things wisely. God has given each of us responsibility over something—money, talents, even our stuff. We pray kids discover how they can use those things wis

October 14th & 15th Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hi Remix, Revolution & SPIN Parents, During week 2 of our Use It or Lose It series we continue looking at stewardship with another Psalm. In Psalm 90:12, Moses writes, Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom, (NIV). Moses reminds us that when we take time to think about the time God has given us, we have an opportunity to use our time wisely. Bottom Line: Use your time wisely. We only have so much time while we’re here on earth, but every day God gives us is a chance for us to do something that matters. We can waste our time or use it to do something significant. We pray that kids will make every moment they have count. Head over to our Kids' Time Website to check out

October 14th & 15th Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent, In week three of our Zig Zag Zone we will hear about David’s good friend, Jonathan. David and Jonathan shared so many experiences and were close friends. It was VERY hard when they had to say good-bye to one another. We will learn that God can help me do hard things. God can help us do anything – even the really hard things. Preschoolers will relate to having a best friend like Jonathan and can even understand how hard it would be for David to say good-bye. They will learn that they can ask God to help them do hard things like saying good-bye to your best friend. This is especially true in our area. Our Parent Child Dedication is November 4, 2017 from 10 am-noon. It is

October 7th & 8th Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent, We know things are going to happen in our preschoolers’ lives where they will need God’s help - times when their lives will zig one way and then zag another. We want them to grow up believing that God loves them and can help them anywhere, with anything, no matter how hard it may be. He can even help them help others! This month, we’ll learn about the life of David and how even when it zigged and zagged, God was there to help him. Once David had proved that he was brave and strong by protecting his sheep and defeating Goliath, King Saul asked him to lead his troops into battle. God was with David and helped him win battle after battle. Our story focus is God can help me

October 7th & 8th Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hi Remix, Revolution & SPIN Parents, We start the month with something David wrote in Psalm 24:1, The earth belongs to the Lord. And so does everything in it. The world belongs to him. And so do all those who live in it, (NIrV). What David wrote at the start of this Psalm is an important reminder. As we head into a month talking about stewardship, we want kids to focus on the Creator and how everything big and small, seen and unseen, belongs to God. Bottom Line: Remember, everything belongs to the Lord. Kids have an easy time claiming what’s theirs. One of the first words a child learns is “mine!” We want kids to understand that what they have is actually on loan to us. Remembering that ever
