November 24/25 Parent Note for Sprouts

November 21, 2018 Hi Sprouts Parents, Thanksgiving week is finally here! Chaos may be increasing, like we need more chaos, right?! You get everything packed, loaded in the car, turn out of your neighborhood and then… “Are we there yet?”, “How long will it take to get there?”, “Can we turn a video on?”, “I don’t want that video !”, “He’s touching me!”, “She’s looking at me!”, “I’m hungry!” You can probably add your family flavor to the noise and are probably dreading it…as least I did. Right when we are supposed to be thankful, we have less than generous thoughts, or are maybe considering duct tape! I’m sorry to say, I can’t wave my magic wand to make your holiday travels…magical, but I can t

November 17/18 Parent Note for Sprouts

Hi Sprouts Parent, How is your Happy Helper search going? I’d love to hear about the helpers you have experienced so far this month! This week look for modern day “Good Samaritans,” our police, fire fighters and first responders, to name a few. When you hear the siren for a first responder, consider praying with your child for the person in need and thank God for those who help us. So, Band-Aids...does your child love or hate them? If they love them, they will be excited about our Band-Aid activity this weekend. I found a hilarious article about preschoolers’ love of Band-Aids! There are a couple questionable words, but I just had to share. Click here for the article and enjoy! I love the si

November 10/11 Parent Note for Sprouts

Hi Sprouts Parent, This month as we teach our preschoolers to look for helpers in their lives, we can also look for and be thankful for the people who help us! Our Kids’ Time website is a great resource for you to connect home and church. I love the prayer that is in this month’s Baby Parent Cue. While this prayer is in the Baby Parent Cue, I think it is relevant for parents of kids of all ages. It says, “Dear God. Thank You for choosing me to be this little boy/girl’s mom/dad. I pray You will surround me with people who will help me be the parent he/she needs me to be. I love You God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” I encourage you to take a look at the resources provided on the website to find ways

November 3/4 Parent Note for Sprouts

November 1st, 2018 Happy November! Our theme for November is Happy Helpers! In the past we’ve talked about all the ways we can help others. This month, we want to look at helping from a different angle and focus on being thankful for the many people who help us. So, welcome to the Happy Helpers Club! As you go about your day, talk to your kids about the various people who have helped or served your family and how you can be thankful for them. This is a great way to connect home with what they are learning at church.I’ll be talking about gratitude all month long on our Parents of New Hope Facebook page and would love for you join the conversation and let us know how you are showing gratitude.
