November 4th & 5th Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent,

Our theme for Sprouts this month is Recipe for Thanks! Thinking about the things we’re thankful for is the key to any recipe of thanks – and a thankful heart. We start the month learning about the Ten Commandments. Commandments are some of those ingredients that may not sound yummy but they are often essential and good for us! Our story focus is, “I am thankful for God’s commandments.” We won’t be delving deeply into the commandments, but focusing on the first one, to love God more than anything. As you pull out your recipes to make dinner or get ready for your Thanksgiving feast, talk about the ingredients of a life following Jesus.

Preschoolers are naturally curious, but as you know they don’t always ask their curious questions at the most appropriate times! Here is a great article to teach your kids how to embrace others who are different than they are, kids that have special needs. I’d love to know your thoughts!

FMSC, Feed My Starving Children is in two weeks. We will NOT have our usual weekend services as we will be packing all weekend. We do have one pack time where we provide childcare for kids under 5. You need to sign up for this pack so we can plan accordingly. This pack is Sunday morning from 9 – 11:15 am.

Make sure to read over the Parent Cue for ways to continue learning at home. I’d love to hear what you are making in the kitchen!

Love,

Sherry
