November 11th & 12th Parent Note for Sprouts

Dear Sprouts Parent,

Our theme for Sprouts this month is Recipe for Thanks! Thinking about the things we’re thankful for is the key to any recipe of thanks – and a thankful heart. This week we learn about the Lord’s Prayer and how Jesus taught them how to pray and practice praying the way He modeled. Our story focus is “I can be thankful I can pray.” We will learn that we can pray anytime, anywhere and about anything.

A great, practical way to apply this concept this week is to stop and pray before you eat, at bedtime, when you hear an emergency vehicle, when you’ve lost your keys, etc. God really does care about the little things in our lives. He wants us to bring our requests and of course, our thanks to Him.

Our Bible verse this month is “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart.” Psalm 111:1

FMSC, Feed My Starving Children is in next week. We will NOT have our usual weekend services as we will be packing all weekend. Many of the packing sessions are full, including the Sunday morning one.

Do you have a 3-year-old or a child close to 3? You know you child is 3 when they start asking why and I’m not talking about just an occasional why…these little ones have a knack for asking why about every. Single. Thing you say or ask…and they ask why about your answer to their why. When my boys were little they asked why so many times, I thought I’d lose my mind! Here is a great article on how to deal with a 3-year-olds curiosity.

Make sure to read over the Parent Cue for ways to continue learning at home. I’d love to hear what you are making in the kitchen!

Much love,

Sherry
