June 30/July 1 Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hello Kids' Time (KT) Parents,

In KT, one of our goals is to teach children how to live according to what the Bible says. Memorizing Scripture is a great way to keep the Word of God at the forefront of your mind, allowing its truth to refresh and fill your mind.

Last summer in KT, we used trading cards to encourage kids to memorize the weekly scripture. Children could earn 'Special Edition' cards if they recited certain memory verses. This summer, we are playing off this same idea, but with key tags. Kids will be getting a key tag each week with the weekly bible verse and the theme. Kids may recite the verse to an adult once they feel ready to earn an Emoji wristband.

If your child went to any of the services last week, they received the first key tag. Once they memorize the scripture on the tag, they earn an emoji wristband to match the key tag!

This weekend, we will focus on the sad face Emoji. Everybody feels sad sometimes. God doesn’t expect us to paste a smile on our face and pretend everything is okay ALL the time. Even Jesus was sad when his friend Lazarus died. We will learn what God says to do when we feel sad, and that He can bring us comfort. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “He will be with you. He will never leave you. He will never desert you. So don’t be afraid. Don’t lose hope.“
