Dear Sprouts Parent,
We have a new theme for August, Anchors Away! Our bottom line is “God’s Way is Perfect.” And our Bible verse is 2 Samuel 22:31 which repeats our bottom line, “God’s Way is perfect.”
As parents we have plans for our preschoolers that they sometimes don’t want to follow. God is the same way with us. He has a perfect plan for us, but we have the choice to obey. This week we will learn about Jonah. God asked Jonah to go to Ninevah, God’s way and Jonah chose to go in the opposite direction. Jonah ended up in the belly of a fish and then followed God’s way…I’m thankful I haven’t ended up in the belly of a fish when I choose my own way!
Our Parent Cues are new this month and I wanted to highlight one of the activities. How often are you in the car with your kids? Daily, couple times a week? This month try asking your child which way they think you will go. You can have them point right or left when you reach an intersection. Once you reach your destination tell your child they did a great job guessing! Remind them that when we go God’s way, we don’t need to guess.
I highly recommend printing out the Monthly Parent Cue, cutting it into sections and posting that section where you will see it…like the dashboard of your car, beside the bathtub, with your favorite toys or by your child’s bed. There are Parent Cues for babies and toddlers as well!

I hope you have fun with this new theme…you may want to look for some toy boats for the bathtub!
