August 4/5 Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Hello Kids’ Time Parents,

Most Emojis on our phones are yellow in color. There are yellow smiles and yellow frowns. There are yellow silly faces, and yellow sad faces. But the Emoji we are talking about this weekend represents a very strong emotion. This strong emotion is anger. Some people think that anger is a bad emotion. They think that God wants us to always be cool and never, ever lose our temper. That is simply not true. God created anger just as he did every other emotion, but as we’ve learned from previous weeks, there is a right time and a wrong time to get angry. We will learn about when Jesus got angry as He cleansed the temple found in John 2:13-1. The memory verse this week is: Don’t become angry quickly. Anger lives in the hearts of foolish people. Ecclesiastes 7:9 (NlrV)

Here are some questions to help this weekends’ lesson stick:

  • Why was Jesus angry with the people at the temple?

  • What are some bad things to be angry about?

  • What does God want us to get angry about?

New Information: The new school year is rolling around already. Kids' Time will be participating in this year's school voucher project. One voucher is $20. This $20 provides school supplies and a backpack to a student who needs it. When you donate towards this cause, your childs' name will be entered in to a drawing to win a Kindle Fire!

Your impact goes far beyond just the practical paper and pencil. It inspires hope and a chance for a brighter future. But most of all, it shares Christ's love in a very tangible way.

You can purchase vouchers in the atrium during any service, or online by clicking here. We will also have an offering box available upstairs in the Remix room. Encourage your kids to make their own donation! Any amount you are willing to give makes a difference.

Have a blessed week.
