August 25/26 Parent Note for Remix/Revolution

Dear Kids’ Time parents,

We continue our At the Movies series with the popular movie Coco. Coco is a heartwarming story about a boy named Miguel. Despite his family's baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Through this story and the story of the Tower of Babel found in Genesis 11:1-9, children will learn that Gods’ plan is far greater than our own. The world offers us so many fun and exciting things. Sometimes people get distracted by these things in life and they lead us away from what God has in store for us. As we explore the movie Coco and a special story in the bible, we will learn that God ALWAYS knows what’s best for us. We will be reminded that God has a special plan for all of us. We will figure out how we can allow God to truly work in our lives so that we can live out our real purpose. Our memory verse is: In your heart you plan your life. But the Lord decides where your steps will take you. Proverbs 16:9 (NIrV)

New Information

  • Baptism Meeting. Parents with kids interested in baptism can join us upstairs for a baptism class this weekend (August 25th and 26h) after any service. We’ll help ensure your kids understand what this important step means, and give parents some tools to guide kids through the process. We encourage parents and kids to come together. To download the Start Here Guide to help you begin a conversation about following Jesus with your child, Click HERE. If your child is ready or you have questions, and is 12 or under, please email us at

  • Serving Information. We are continuing to combine Remix and Revolution in Zones during the month of September due to a limited number of volunteers. Our goal is to get enough volunteers on board so that kids can participate in small groups by grade in October instead of Zones. If you are interested in serving in Kids’ Time, please talk to a Kids’ Time Staff person in the atrium after any service this weekend.

  • Labor Day Weekend. On September 1st and 2nd there will be no Remix, Revolution, or SPIN. Kids will go into the adult service.

  • Volunteer training. Are you a parent AND a Kids’ Time or Takeover volunteer? You are invited to our annual volunteer training luncheon on September 30th. If you are interested in attending, please talk to a Kids’ Time Staff person in the atrium after any service this weekend.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

Have a great week.
