October 6/7 Parent Note for Sprouts

October 3, 2018

Dear Sprouts Parent,

This month our theme is Camp Out! Each week we will have a tent and camping supplies out for your children to play with in their classrooms. You may want to camp out at home as well! In our Bible stories this month we will learn that God has a plan despite our circumstances.

This week we learn about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and the fiery furnace. Our craft will be a paper bag “furnace” with figures of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego so your kids can re-enact the story at home.

Our Bible verse if Joshua 1:9, “God is with you wherever you go.” And our bottom line is “God’s got it!”

In our Baby (click here) and Toddler (click here) Parent Cue is an article that is a MUST read! It will only take a couple minutes. The article is called “Comparison is the Thief of Contentment.” In our world of Pinterest and social media, we see the highlight reels of our friends and families and it is so easy to fall in the comparison trap!

This year Sprouts will be participating in our annual Change 4 Change giving initiative for Feed My Starving Children. This week your child will come home with a canister to use to collect spare change and bring back to weekend services. When they empty their canister, they will receive a special sticker saying, “I Made a Change!” You can continue to collect change throughout the month of October!

Please be sure to check the weekend program for all the great activities going on at New Hope this month. The 5K and Color Run is coming up on October 20th. This fundraiser for Feed My Starving Children is a great event for families and friends.

Thank you for sharing your children with us each week! We love them and love to see them learn about God!

Love,

Sherry
