October 27/28 Parent Note for SPIN/Remix/Revolution

Dear Remix, Revolution, & SPIN Parents,

Here are some of the newest happenings this week:

  • Baptism Interest Meeting: Parents with kids interested in baptism can join us upstairs for a baptism class this Saturday, Oct. 27th at 6:30 pm or this Sunday, Oct. 28th at 10 am or 12 pm. We’ll help ensure your kids understand what this important step means and give parents some tools to guide kids through the process. Click here to download the Start Here Guide to help you, as parents, begin a conversation about following Jesus with your child.

  • Change 4 Change: During the 9’o clock service this past weekend, a group of children in Revolution decided they didn’t want any prize if they reach the goal amount of $2,000. Instead, they want to put that money towards Feed My Starving Children. Hearing about the children’s hearts so full of generosity and humility was truly inspiring. David Schleyer is so touched by this that he has decided to donate the price of those donuts out of pocket if we reach our goal so that this group can still be blessed. Keep sending in all of that that spare change. If you’d like to make a donation online, click here. Every penny is bringing us closer to our goal.

We wrap up our study on contentment in Exodus 16:2-21 and Exodus 17:1-17 with a look at how God’s people respond to the wilderness. God rescued them from slavery in Egypt, yet when they find themselves in uncomfortable situations, they complain that God doesn’t care about them and even long to return to Egypt. In spite of that, God continued to meet their needs in the wilderness providing what they needed the whole time.

The bottom line this week is, ‘Don’t miss out on what you have now’. If we’re only thinking about what we don’t have, we’ll miss being able to celebrate how God is taking care of us. It’s easy to find something else we think we need that will make us happy, but contentment is finding the joy in what God has provided right here and now. We pray that kids will start seeing the good in their life rather than complain and miss out.

If you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out.

In Him,

Natalie Sullivan
