December 1/2 Parent Note for SPIN/Remix/Revolution

November 29, 2018

Remix, Rev & SPIN Parents,

Here are some of the newest happenings in our program:

  • Coat Drive. Do you have any coats at home that don’t fit anymore? New Hope is collecting coats of all sizes to spread the warmth. There will be a coat drop off area in the atrium during all services until December 16th.

  • Holiday of Hope. Remix, Revolution, and SPIN will be collecting cookie mixes, frosting, and sprinkles as part of the church’s Holiday of Hope initiative.  Holiday of Hope is designed to help families in our community who are struggling. Struggling to meet the daily needs of their family, let alone providing joy for their children for Christmas. Please bring in the items listed above between now and Sunday, December 9th, so they can be put together and delivered to the families.  Thanks for helping to provide a Holiday of Hope. Questions? Contact Steph by email at steph.schleyer@newhope.org.

  • Revolution Worship Stations. In order to make worship more fun and engaging for 4th and 5th grade, we are going to try out a station based way of worshipping. Check out the Revolution Script under the volunteer tab for more details.

We kick off the month with John 3:16. God loves the world so much that He wants to spend forever with us. That was made possible through Jesus! The bottom line is God did something about our greatest need. Jesus was God’s gift to the world. We pray that kids start to understand their need for a Savior and put their trust in Jesus.

The key questions: Why do we need to be rescued? As preteens start to think more deeply about their faith, we start with a big question: Why did God need to send Jesus in the first place? Our lives are wasted without Jesus. We pray that through this lesson, preteens start forming an authentic faith where they realize that Jesus came to transform their entire life.

Check out the advent calendar we have for the month of December on our website (nhckidstime.com). Each day includes a part of the Christmas story and an activity to do as a family.  Join the parents of New Hope Facebook page for a coordinating post each day and to join in the conversation.  Click here to join!

If you have any questions about our program, feel free to reach out!

Have a blessed rest of your week.
