December 15/16 Parent Note for SPIN/Remix/Revolution

Hello Remix, Rev & SPIN Parents,

Check out the Bible story videos we watch, the music we worship to, and get ideas on how to connect church and home by visiting our website at nhckidstime.com.

All month long we are learning about Compassion. Compassion is caring enough to do something about someone else’s need. During the Holiday of Hope Cookie supply drive, we showed compassion by caring for others. Not all families get the privilege of doing all the extra holiday activities- decorating the tree, baking cookies, getting presents. Although these things are not what Christmas is about, these traditions are fun and bring families closer together. When we serve the community as a church, we are spreading the love of Jesus. We all NEED Jesus’ love. Thanks to all who participated!

During our Coat Drive, we’ve collected 308 coats so far. That’s 308 people that will be warm this winter. Together, as a church we have spread the warmth and helped others in need. This is something to be happy about! This is the last weekend to bring those coats in.

If you are still looking for ways to teach your children compassion, take a look at the Advent Calendar you got two weeks ago. You can download a copy here. This calendar has some great ways to can show compassion to others around you. We challenge kids to do one small act of compassion each week.

This weekend, we head to Luke 2:1-7 to the familiar moment when Jesus is born. Even though Jesus was born where the animals stayed, God took care of all the details. The Savior of the World was born, and God’s compassion for us was on full display.

The bottom line is God gave us the greatest gift. God had been planning a rescue since the very beginning. Jesus was God’s greatest gift to make it possible for all people to be with God forever.

In Revolution, the Key Question is- What are some ways you can give? When we experience God’s life-changing compassion, we can’t help but want to share that compassion with others. We hope our preteens leave with an idea of how they can give and show compassion to others.

If you have any questions about Remix, Rev, or SPIN, please email me. I’d love to hear from you.

Have a great rest of your week!
