Hey there Remix, Rev, & SPIN Parents,
Hope you enjoyed the snow day this week. It is week three of our January Series! This weekend, we discover more about self-control in Proverbs 12:18. Solomon talks about the power of our words. We want kids to learn that when they choose the right words in a difficult situation they can actually bring healing to the situation rather than destruction. The Bottom Line is- Choose your words carefully. We want kids to think about the words they use throughout different situations, because our words can help point others to Jesus. In Revolution, the Key Question is- Why are your words so important? Preteens are at the phase when they’re not always thinking before they speak. We hope that they will get the chance to see that their words have power to hurt or help. God can help them make the wise choice with their words even when they might be upset.
Here are two questions you can ask your child to reinforce what was taught in church:
Why are your words so important?
What are some consequences of not choosing your words carefully?
If your child has expressed interest in getting Baptized, come to the large room after any service on January 26/27 for our Baptism Interest Meeting. We can answer any questions your child may have about Baptism and what it means. Baptism weekend will be February 23/24. All of Remix and Revolution will be in the adult service this weekend (February 23/24) to celebrate.
We want to partner with you all to teach your children about what it means to follow Jesus. We do this in many ways. One of those ways is through our Parents of New Hope Facebook Page. We post about upcoming events, share recent articles, and provide encouragement. If you aren’t a part of our Facebook Community, join here.
If you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out. I would love to hear from you!
