Hello Remix, Revolution, & SPIN Parents,
Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day!
This weekend, we discover one of Jesus’ most famous miracles recorded in John 6:1-13. Jesus saw the large crowd that had followed Him and decided to feed them. A boy offers his lunch: five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus took the boy’s gift and used it to feed over 5,000 people. The Bottom Line is- Use what you have to serve others. Sometimes kids might look at a situation and wonder if they have anything they can offer to help. We hope they remember that God can use whatever they have to do some amazing things. They just need to be willing to use it to serve others. In Revolution, the Key Question is- What do you have that you can use to serve others? Everyone has something that God can use to serve others. Preteens might just need some help identifying them. We pray that through this lesson, kids will start to see the things in their own life that they can offer to help.
Each week, we post two questions that you can ask your child after church to prompt discussions about the Bible Story. The two questions for this week are:
1)How many people did Jesus feed?
2)What do you have that you can use to serve others?
All month we did a Sock Drive to provide an opportunity for kids to practice serving others. We have been collecting new, white crew socks for the Central Union Mission in Washington, DC. We want to show kids that Jesus has the power to work through us when we are willing. There are two boxes located upstairs for any donations you and your child would like to make. This is the last weekend to make donations.
Baptism Weekend is February 23rd & 24th. This means that all Elementary aged kids will be in the adult service to be a part of the celebration!
If you have questions about anything, feel free to reach out. I would love to hear from you.
Enjoy the long weekend!
