Hello Remix, Revolution, & SPIN Parents,
The month of March is all about celebrating our individuality. Our memory verse is “How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done is wonderful. I know that very well,” Psalm 139:14 (NIrV). Encourage your children to memorize this truth if they can! Last weekend, we learned that we are made in the image of God. Next, we take a look at a parable Jesus told in Luke 15:1-17. In the story, Jesus talks about a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep behind to search for the one sheep that was lost. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who rescues us and makes it possible for us to have a forever relationship with God. The Bottom Line is - God wants to have a relationship with me. When it comes to understanding individuality, it’s important we help kids understand that God created them to have a relationship with Him. We hope, through Jesus’ parable of the Lost Sheep, kids will start to understand God’s amazing love for them. In Revolution, the Key Question is - What does it mean to have a relationship with God? Preteens are starting the process of really owning their faith. Through this lesson, we want to give them a chance to articulate what that means for their life. A relationship with God isn’t only something that we know in our heads, but something we live out with our lives.
The Two Questions for the Ride Home are:
1) What did the Bible Story (Luke 15:1-7) teach us about God’s desire to have a relationship
2) What does it mean to have a relationship with God?
Send me an email if you any questions. I would love to hear from you!
